Take a relaxed walking tour through Bergen’s historic heart, from its lively fish market to the medieval fortress and iconic Bryggen wharf.

Discover Bergen, the “City of Seven Mountains,” on a engaging walking tour that starts at the Tourist Information Office on Strandkaien 3. Just around the corner, you’ll find the lively fish market — a local landmark that’s been around since the 1200s.

From the waterfront, you’ll head deeper into the city, exploring its cozy streets and open squares, like Torgallmenningen — a popular place where people gather for events and just hang out. You’ll stroll through Byparken too, a green space right in the city center with sculptures, a pond, and the charming Music Pavilion.

Next, you’ll pass a grand old building from the 1890s that’s now part of the KODE art museums, and then the historic Old Town Hall, which has been part of Bergen’s story since the 1500s.

One of the highlights of the tour is Bergenhus Fortress. This 13th-century castle has stood watch over the harbor for ages. You’ll see Håkon’s Hall and climb the Rosenkrantz Tower for some awesome views.

Before wrapping up, you’ll wander through Bryggen — the famous row of colorful wooden houses. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and feels like a real trip back in time.
